Vineyard Progress Report

Our grape vines are just about ready to rise and shine! In a few short days, we expect bud break to occur. This is the commencement of the growing season and a sure sign of warmer weather and increasing sunshine—so, naturally, it’s a highly anticipated event around here. Our Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc vines are particularly close to bud break. Bud break happens when the soil warms up and water begins circulating throughout the vines. The dormant buds swell and shoots begin to grow from the buds. Our vineyard crew is carefully monitoring the vines for signs of progress.
