Policies & Procedures

We allow DJ’s and live music. The town has a sound ordinance to which we strictly adhere. The music ends 15 minutes prior to the end of the event.
For parties of more than 50, we require a valet service to ensure that everyone’s car is parked carefully and to make sure emergency vehicles can get down the narrow driveway.
For parties of more than 100, The Town of Portsmouth requires a uniformed Portsmouth Police Officer to handle traffic and security, which is provided by the venue. They will be stationed in a cruiser at the top of the driveway. The officer is required to be on hand from the start of the event until one hour after the party has ended. A fire marshall is required for parties of over 185 guests. The fees are around $50.00 per hour and is the responsibility of the renter.
The rental fee does not include tents, catering, rental services, entertainment, valet parking and other services which are the responsibility of the lease. Greenvale requires licensed beverage and food service for all private events. Please refer to our preferred vendor list which is required for all events. 
To secure the date a 50% deposit is required. The balance due is to be paid 60 days before the event. The deposit is refundable up to six months before the event. If we are able to rent the space for another event after that time, we will reimburse you for the deposit. All refunded deposits will incur a 10% processing fee.
Smoking is not allowed in the stable or in the tents. Smoke producing machines are not allowed on the property.
Access to the event location for tent installation is two days beforehand. The caterers setup is allowed one day prior to the event. All deliveries must occur before noon of the event day to insure smooth logistics. An hour is allowed for breakdown and cleanup after the event. All trash must be removed from the site that night.

A golf cart is available. The golf cart helps to transport those not inclined to walk from site to site. Each site is also available to access by van or car if necessary.
Only our world class estate grown Greenvale wines are to be served. In some extraordinary situation such as you make your own wine, we will charge a $15.00 per bottle corkage fee. This needs to be approved and in writing.
Wine Costs: Our wines range from 179.88 to $455.88 per case. (Our case discount of 10% will be applied when more than a case of wine is purchased.)
We include a winetasting as part of the tour so that you are confident that our wines are world class. Then closer to the event we will go through another winetasting with your menu in mind to choose the wines for your event. After the event we tally the bottles and will then charge you for the wine consumed. The bartenders and staff know to keep the bottles and count at the end of the night.
Neck Cards: We can provide personalized neck cards for your wine bottles at $20.00 per case.
